brightside fundamentals

In this 4 week program, new athletes will learn how to safely perform the most common movements utilized in our group classes. More specifically, Brightside Fundamentals is designed to:

  1. Teach athletes key movements and techniques used in our group classes

  2. Help athletes develop strategies for modifying workouts according to their current abilities (the technique known as “scaling”)

  3.  Show new members proper gym etiquette.

Brightside Fundamentals is a 4 week program designed for athletes that are new to functional fitness and Weightlifting and would like to start attending group classes to improve broad all-around fitness. If you are an experienced athlete with 6 months or more of previous experience, please contact us to discuss waiving the requirement to start with Brightside Fundamentals.

NOTE: If you have very specific goals and/or you would like to focus on specific movements, personal training may be a better fit for you.

Formats

Option 1: Private Fundamentals

  • (3) one-on-one private sessions with a coach

  • (6) Brightside group Functional Fitness classes

  • BONUS: If athletes attend 6 group classes prior to the expiration of their one month Fundamentals membership, they have unlimited access to any Brightside group classes for the duration of their one month membership

Option 2: Small Group Fundamentals

  • (4) small group Fundamentals classes with a coach - classes are capped at 5 athletes

  • (6) Brightside group Functional Fitness classes

  • BONUS: If athletes attend 6 group classes prior to the expiration of their one month Fundamentals membership, they have unlimited access to any Brightside group classes for the duration of their one month membership

One-on-one sessions and small group Fundamentals classes are designed to help new athletes learn how to safely perform the most common movements utilized in our group classes. After each Fundamentals session, your trainer will identify which classes on the regular schedule may be appropriate for you to attend based on your current skills and abilities.

 

New members in Private Fundamentals should plan to attend at least two group classes a week in addition to their personal training session.

New members in Small Group Fundamentals should plan to attend at least one regular group class a week in addition to their small group Fundamentals classes.

Curriculum

Class #1: SQUATS & PRESSING

  • Barbell Squat Variations

  • Barbell Press Variations

Class #2: HINGING & BASIC GYMNASTICS

  • Rowing 101 

  • Deadlift

  • Russian Kettlebell Swing

  • Gymnastics Kipping

Class #3: OLYMPIC LIFTS

  • Clean

  • Jerk

  • Snatch

 

Class #4 (Small Group Only):  REVIEW & BONUS CONTENT

  • Review class #1 - 3 content

  • BONUS: Box Jumps & Split Jerks

Attendance Requirements

In order to "graduate" from the Brightside Fundamentals program and transition to an Unlimited membership, athletes must attend at least 6 group classes during their one month membership in addition to their three one-on-one sessions or four small group classes. Attendance at regular group classes is critical for memory retention and motor development as some of the movements covered in the one-on-one sessions are relatively complex and require practice to improve.

 

Cost

The cost for Brightside Fundamentals is a one-time, non-refundable fee that is paid up front before the program starts:

  • Private Fundamentals $345

  • Small Group Fundamentals $295/person

The program is subject to our personal training calendar availability and fluctuates each month. Please schedule a consultation to get started. 

Option 2: Small Group Fundamentals

  • Class #1 Tuesday 9/30 7pm - 8:15pm

  • Class #2 Thursday 10/2 7pm - 8:15pm

  • Class #3 Tuesday 10/7 7pm - 8:15pm

  • Class #4 Thursday 10/9 7pm - 8:15pm
